SLATIG Science Learning and Teaching Interest Group
The Faculty of Science, with assistance from the Learning and Teaching Unit (LTU), and the support of many of the Science ITET fellows, established a Science Learning and Teaching Interest Group (SLATIG) in 2001. The group aims to:
SLATIG meets regularly and holds seminars and workshops to bring together people involved in "islands of activity" from throughout the Faculty, The group discusses relevant educational issues, educational support needs within the Faculty, plans how to address these needs, and to reports back on the progress of current initiatives. These meetings are semi-formal, and are a key source of communication between EdSquad members, academic staff and the Dean of Science.
The dedication to excellence in teaching that members of SLATIG exhibit is paramount in achieving the aim to increase the quality of education in Science at UNSW All are welcome to join us; lecturers and tutors, full-time and casual staff, science academics and those from other academic units.
