How to find further information

HOW DO I FIND FURTHER INFORMATION ON EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY?

The following provides further information and links to material on education technology. This includes:

1. EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY NEWS:

WebCT Vista is coming.

Vista is the new WebCT Learning Management System that will replace the Campus Edition version we currently use at UNSW. Planning for the implementation of Vista is underway by EDTeC (Educational Development and Technology Centre), in consultation with the faculties and schools, to make this tranistion as smooth as possible. Further news on this process will be made available as it comes to hand.

2. SCIENCE LEARNING AND TEACHNING INTEREST GROUP:

The Faculty of Science has established a Science Learning and Teaching Interest Group that aims:

  • To share issues and strategies in learning and teaching in Science
  • To promote educational research in Science at UNSW
  • To promote the role of teaching at UNSW

3. UNSW Workshops, Courses and Seminars:

Workshops, courses and seminars are available for those who wish to find out more about education technology, approaches to teaching and learning and staff development.

Office of the PVC(ED): Learning and Teaching can offer practical, individual and/or team support including:

  • Ways of enhancing your students learning
  • putting you in touch with colleagues addressing similar issues and concerns in learning and teaching
  • supporting you in resolving issues in learning and teaching within your field of study
  • documenting evidence of development of educational practice for promotion
  • providing workshops, resources (PVCED website) and
  • support on individual / group basis

EDTeC run workshops in WebCT, Flexible education, Teaching support, Web and graphic production, Video production and streaming, and the Learning Resource Catalogue. Details can be found at: EDTeC workshops.
