Science Course Outline Template

In consultation with the Science Learning and Teaching Interest Group and the Undergraduate Education Committee, the Faculty of Science has devised a Science Course Outline Template  that encompasses all the requirements of the UNSW Course Outline Template. Information captured in this template documents features such as:
  • discipline contextualised graduate attribute development,
  • mode of course delivery,
  • activities and assessment strategies,
  • relationship to other courses in the program,
  • when it was last reviewed,
  • ways in which feedback is given and how this feedback has been acted upon.

The Science Course Outline Template is to be used for all courses offered by the Faculty from session 2 - 2006 and supersedes all previous templates. Completed course outlines should be distributed to all undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled at UNSW and a copy should be lodged with your Head of School.

The process and documentation of the information required in the course outline template will be of value when preparing your UNSW Teaching Portfolio for promotion.
In 2007 course outlines will be assessed as part of the 2007 - 2008 Learning and Teaching Performance Indicators  - LTPI 2.  A random sample of twenty course outlines, from courses offered in Session 2 -2007 will be evaluated (10 to be nominated by the schools and 10 nominated by the DVC (academic)).
